Bespoke Commissions & Archives
A detailed look at custom projects created for collectors, homeowners, and architectural properties worldwide.
Private Residence Table Linen Set
The commission draws on the geometric vocabulary of South Indian temple border architecture, specifically the stepped motifs and repeating vertical elements found in stone friezes. These have been reinterpreted as a clean, contemporary surface pattern for modern living.
We selected a medium-weight hemp-cotton blended cloth with a naturally textured hand that suits both the material's earthy origin and the refined residential context. The fabric provides a cool deep blue base that anchors the silver without competing with it. Designed to integrate with the interior palette of white, cool grey, and soft blue, there is no dyed thread or coloured fill, maintaining versatile dining appeal.
Private Villa Table Linen Set
Designed for generous entertaining, this set serves a dining table for ten to twelve guests. It carries a strong personal brief: the client's deep affinity for wildlife, translated into a motif language that feels at home in the lush tropical context of the property.
A rich green base cloth was selected to echo the dense canopy and garden setting of the South Indian villa. The double-layered fabric adds weight, draping beautifully across a large-format setting. The Kasuti deer motif is rendered in muted gold zari, avoiding illustrative detail in favour of a stylized, repeating graphic figure that moves across the cloth with rhythm. Finer geometric repeat units frame the central system. Ground cloth: deep botanical green, Embroidery: gold zari, warm and celebratory.
Private Cottage Dining Linen
Conceived for serious entertaining, this set is scaled for a large dining table seating 24 guests at a property with considerable historic character. The design brief was precise: the linens should belong to the interior, not sit on top of it. The starting point was the cottage's original bronze hardware and the quiet authority it carries across every room.
A lightly sheen linen-blended base cloth complements the warmth of the aged bronze zari thread. Traditional Kasuti motifs were drawn directly from the architectural detailing of the cottage: the circular bosses of door knobs, the elongated profiles of handle escutcheons, and the repeated forms of period light fittings. The composition places a central medallion repeat along the runner's field, bordered by a finer escutcheon-derived band at each edge, maintaining surface restraint.
